Brooklyn born comedian, Rasheed Thurmond, died at his Queens home on Nov. 27, leaving behind three young daughters, a family and an unfinished career.
His comedy captured New York culture in a way that only a native New Yorker could glean from everyday life, particularly in the city's outer boroughs.
Rasheed performed on "Bad Boys Of Comedy" and MTV's "Uptown Comedy Club." In January he will appear on "Def Comedy Jam."
“He could have been close to Chris Rock, because he was definitely an aspiring comedian out of Brooklyn," said his pal and fellow comedian A.G. White. "Nobody makes it out of East New York, comedy wise. Rasheed had a gift, where his characters were so precise, that you were really in tune with what he was saying."
