It is with an abundance of pride and enthusiasm that BBN congratulates the following recipients of the 2010 Academy Award. We celebrate your talent and contribution to American film, arts and culture. God Bless you and we expect and need more from you!

Notable Mentions
Sapphire (For her brilliance and for creating the characters in “Push” that became “Precious” based on the novel Push)
Lee Daniels (For daring to bring Precious to the screen)
Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry for helping to bring Precious to the screen.

And the Winners Are….

WRITING (ADAPTED SCREENPLAY): "Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire" Screenplay by Geoffrey Fletcher

ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE: Mo'Nique in "Precious: Based on the novel 'Push' by Sapphire"

DOCUMENTARY (SHORT SUBJECT): "Music by Prudence" Roger Ross Williams and Elinor Burkett.

DIRECTING: Kathryn Bigelow "The Hurt Locker," (the first woman to receive the award).

BEST PICTURE: "The Hurt Locker"

BBN Editor’s Note: It was bad form for Elinor Burkett to interrupt Mr. Williams as he delivered his acceptance speech. In the same way it was rude for Kanye West to interrupt Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the Grammy’s. There was a way for both to accept the award. see article on Elinor Burkett
